Plenty of students know the content and still underperform. The marks go to misread command words, unfinished papers and long answers that never reach the top band.
A student who revises hard and still lands two grades below target rarely has a knowledge problem. They have a technique problem, and more revision will not touch it.
Describe, explain, evaluate and compare each want something different. Answering the wrong one well still scores badly, and nobody is taught this explicitly.
Papers are written to be tight. A student who spends too long on early questions loses the last page entirely, whatever they knew.
Long answers stall at a band for the same few reasons: no judgement, no evidence, no ending. Learning the shape lifts all of them.
Method marks are awarded for working, not answers. Students practise writing enough to earn them, and spotting which questions carry them.
These follow a predictable shape. Learning it turns a three mark attempt into a five or six, without learning any extra content at all.
Planning in two minutes, writing to a structure, finishing with a judgement. Done weekly against the clock until it becomes automatic.
Every tutor marks genuine student answers against the real scheme as part of being hired. Technique can only be taught by someone who knows where marks are awarded.

Your child answers under time and the tutor marks it properly. The gap between what they knew and what they scored becomes visible.
Command words, structures and timing are taught explicitly, as skills with rules, rather than hinted at through more practice.
A timed question every week, marked and returned. The technique only holds when it survives exam conditions repeatedly.
finding reliable 1-on-1 GCSE tuition in ras al khaimah is not easy. this online platform connected us with a brilliant subject expert who guided my daughter expertly through her exams.
i used to struggle with time management during exams. my online tutor ran timed past paper drills with me every week until I felt totally ready. incredible support!
exceptional teaching standards and very accommodating with scheduling. my son achieved grades we honestly didn't think were possible at the start of the year.
Technique is taught through marking. The question worth asking any option is simple: who reads my child’s actual writing, and can they say why it stopped there.

Almost always technique. Revision adds knowledge. Marks are given for answering the question asked, in the time given, in the shape the scheme rewards.
It is the instruction verb: describe, explain, evaluate, compare. Each demands a different answer, and writing a brilliant description where evaluation was asked scores very little.
By timing individual questions rather than whole papers. Students learn roughly a minute a mark, and practise abandoning a stuck question instead of sinking the paper.
Usually something structural is missing, such as evaluation or a conclusion. Once the shape is taught, every long answer in the paper tends to lift together.
Only if it is marked. Unmarked practice rehearses the same mistakes, which is why every timed question here comes back with a mark and a reason.
Once most content is covered, so typically from the spring of Year 10 onwards. Before that, teaching technique on half learned material confuses both.
Often, yes, for a student whose knowledge is already sound. Finishing the paper and answering the right command word can be worth several marks per page.
It is most of what separates a 7 from a 9. At that level content is rarely the issue. The gap is precision, judgement and using the time well.
Send the subject and a recent marked paper if you have one. A specialist is named within 24 hours and starts with where the marks are leaking.
Every timed question comes back marked, with the reason.
